About Me

Hello and thank you for joining me in my little corner of life! My name is Amanda and I am super excited to be sharing this journey with you!

I started this blog on April 25, 2016 and I plan to write about a great many things to include how to make more educated financial decisions, ways to make money, ways to save money, debt management, and how to live your best life. Basically, anything and everything related to how to make your life the most enjoyable life you could ever want!

I am 26 years old and I love a great many things to include reading, writing, creating, gaming, meeting new people, and traveling. I’m extremely opinionated, am ridiculously ambitious and hard-working, and I ultimately know that I have your best interests at heart. I used to be a social worker after all 🙂 I was married in May of 2015 and now live in a major metropolitan city in the US with our cat Pirate Jo. Isn’t he cute?

I have wanted to start a blog for years! But, I finally took the leap and committed to this journey. My only regret is that I didn’t start sooner! My main motivation for starting this blog is to help share what I learn and know about making one’s life less stressful and more enjoyable. I am so incredibly passionate about money management, and the importance of financial education. I believe prevention is the number one thing we can do to make our lives better and I really hope that I can help you make better financial decisions that will ultimately make your life the best one you could live.

Why am I so passionate about this? Well, my husband and I found ourselves in over $140,000 of debt. This includes $100,000 in student loans, 2 car loans, a private loan, and just recently a rather small amount of credit card debt thanks to the lovable kitty above. I found myself asking every day how did this happen? I did all the things society told me to do! I graduated from college (a semester early), I got a “good” job out of college working in the social work field, I bought my car used, I had a savings account, I had a 401k and a VRS retirement plan, I got married, and we do not live above our means. But as time went on, our financial situation became more stressful, and eventually our debt turned into the very thing that is controlling our “bright futures” that everyone told us we would have.

So, here I am hoping I can help you avoid the same mistakes I now know that I made. I strive to inspire and motivate you through this blog! This blog is so special to me because it is the first piece of professional written work I have created and I couldn’t be more proud of the purpose driving it. I hope to publish lots of written material through my life, but I think this is such a great starting point and provides me with an incredible creative outlet!

This is my journey of how we are going to fight our way into a brighter future where we own our time, our money, and our lives. I hope to inspire, motivate, and humor you along the way! I can’t wait to be able to follow along in your journeys of fighting towards financial freedom and your right to have a say in how you live your life!

Spread the love
