Hello my dear readers! For those who don’t know I decided that I wanted to chronicle my experience of starting a blog. The intent is so others can learn what it takes to start a blog, learn from my mistakes throughout the process, and to hopefully provide some humor and enjoyment to your day. If you want to learn how to start a blog, I created a tutorial on how to do so through Bluehost. (this post may contain affiliate links, but only those I personally use)
I’ve decided these weekly updates will be posted on weekends and will consist of 7 categories.
- Blog posts that I published
- Blog Improvements
- Personal Accomplishments
- Extra Income I earned
- Extra Income I received
- Goals I accomplished during the week
- Goals for Next Week
I know this will be very similar to my monthly income reports, but I think having weekly and monthly goals are going to help me stay focused and break my bigger goals down into smaller ones. This should help me in accomplishing my monthly goals, but also allow me to celebrate additional small successes that may happen throughout each week.
So this is the end of week 14 of the life of my beloved blog! I know I am posting this at the beginning of week 15 but I wanted to let you know why I was MIA during week 14. I was at a family reunion with my husband’s family the majority of this week. When we returned we had to do the large mystery shop that kept being postponed the past two weeks. Then my dear friend came to visit and I was busy giving her a tour of the town. I didn’t have access to Wifi or even cell service while in Williamsburg. Although, I could have spent time working on posts and I didn’t. I have no excuse, but I’m glad I took the time off. It made me realize how much I love blogging and how much I don’t want to quit.
I did not post any other posts during week 14. I am sorry.
I did not focus on my blog at all this week. I am sorry.
- I went to a family reunion with my husband and I got to meet lots of new family members on his side of the family!
- I got to spend time with a dear friend and her family and show them around where I live!

This Week’s Goals:
I decided that each week I will set 10 small goals for my blog. All of them should be helping me reach my bigger goals that I set each month.
Since I did not make goals for this week, I also did not meet any goals. I apologize and next week will hopefully be better!
I decided to change my goal strategy for this last week of July. I am going to have to basically start over in August anyways so here are my goals for next week:
- Don’t publish any additional posts
- Prepare 12 posts (in preparation for our cruise vacation in 2 weeks)
That’s it! I just want to have as much content prepared ahead of time as possible so I can finally stop playing catch up and be able to focus on improving my blog. Hopefully, with this prep week August will be my best month yet!
Next Week’s Goals:
Guys this blogging business is so much fun!!!! I am so committed and I can’t wait to see how my blog continues to grow! I do know that growing this blog has become a lot harder now that I have started my new position, but I plan to push through! I hope that you are feeling inspired to start your own blog or to follow your own dreams! If you’d like to start your own blog, I created a tutorial on how to do so using BlueHost.
